In an ideal world, my desk would always look like this. Considering I’m currently working from home, it definitely looks a bit different day to day. It typically has my monitor, laptop, post it notes everywhere…you get the picture. So, let’s just pretend my desk situation looks like this.
I bought this gray metal desk off Wayfair when going into college, so it’s not available anymore. The brand is Bell’o and it has a tempered glass surface. I’m planning on doing a separate blog post all about my favorite affordable desks, so stay tuned for that. Subscribe to my newsletter if you want to be the first one notified.

My gray lucite chair is one of my favorite Amazon purchases. I love the look of ghost chairs and think they look so chic with a faux fur (under $15 on Amazon) draped over the back. I have to admit, it is not the most comfortable chair in the world, but I sit in it for eight hours a day working, and I’m able to tolerate it just fine. I guess if you have a bony butt, then I wouldn’t buy one if you plan to sit in it for an extended period of time. Regardless, I am super content with the purchase and think it goes perfectly with my gray desk. I am a big fan of the monochromatic, cohesive look.

As far as my desk decor goes, the goal is form meets function. I was an idiot and bought a desk with no storage or drawer space, so I had to get creative with the decor items I chose. I stacked my lamp on a cute Studio McFee storage box from Target. I found a gorgeous burled wood option and marble option from West Elm. I use it to store all my skincare products because I do my skin and makeup routine at my desk. Anyone else? I also love that it declutters my desk rather than having all my products out on display.
My lamp is old from Target, but I found a gorgeous globe lamp and a decorative gold lamp. I chose to stack my lamp in order to save space, and I love the layered look as well. It would look great on a stack of books, too.
The black jar is actually an old candle that I cleaned out and am reusing for cotton rounds. It would make a perfect pencil jar or makeup brush holder, too. I bought the blue painted ceramic piece from the Rocky Mountain National Park gift shop and love to store my rings in it. Sadly, I don’t have a direct link, but West Helm has a fun abstract dish. If you’re looking for something super simple and inexpensive, I found a mini black bowl for under two dollars. It would be perfect ring storage and could virtually match in anyone’s space! West Elm also has a gorgeous marble option that’s technically intended to store a bar of soap, but that just goes to show you how easy it is to repurpose items you may already own.
I bought the white marble coaster in a four-pack from Homegoods, but I’ve linked a similar set from Amazon. Not only are they pretty, but they’re obviously practical. I have them sitting all over my house.

Here’s a closer look at some of my favorite details. I love to display my pretty perfume bottles (both for convenience and aesthetic reasons). Once I grow my perfume collection, I’d love to buy a marble tray to display them all on my dresser. I have a helpful blog post where I talk about all my favorite decorative trays if you’d like to see more of my picks.
Last but not least, you can never go wrong with flowers. If I had endless amounts of money, I would have fresh flowers on every surface of my house at all times. I’m going to write a blog post all about where I find affordable vases. You’ll never guess where.
If you have source questions for other items in my bedroom, stay tuned for a blog post.
